Shiftsy Privacy Policy

Shiftsy is a shift-calendar app for iOS made by Kin, an independent developer. This policy explains what information Shiftsy handles, where it lives, and what control you have over it. The short version: your schedule is yours, we store only what the app needs to work, we do not run ads, and we do not sell or share your data with anyone.

What we collect

Account. Your email address, used only to sign you in (a one-time code is emailed to you) and to identify your account. Sign-in emails are delivered through Brevo, our email provider.

Your schedule. The shifts you paint, your shift types (names, hours, colors), and life events you add. This is the core data the app exists to keep.

Groups and swaps. If you join a unit group: your display name, group membership, swap requests, and the messages you exchange inside a swap thread. Swap threads are visible only to the two people in the swap.

Calendar integration (optional). If you import from your device calendar, Shiftsy reads calendar events on your device to build the import preview; the events themselves are processed on your phone. If you connect Google Calendar, Shiftsy creates and maintains its own calendar in your Google account; your Google tokens are stored only in your device's secure Keychain, never on our servers.

Share links (optional). If you create a calendar share link, anyone holding that link can read a feed of your work shifts (dates and times, no messages, no life events). You can revoke a link at any time from the app.

What we do NOT collect

No advertising identifiers, no analytics or tracking SDKs, no location data, no contacts, no selling or renting of data, ever.

Where your data lives

Your schedule is stored on your device and synced to our backend, hosted by Supabase in Canada (Canada Central region). Row-level security scopes every record to your account. Data in transit is encrypted (TLS).

How long we keep it

As long as you have an account. Signing out removes your schedule from that device. Deleting your account (Settings → Delete account) permanently removes your server data, including your side of swap threads, immediately and irreversibly.

Your choices

• Access and portability: your schedule is visible in the app, and share/subscribe links export it in standard calendar (.ics) format.
• Deletion: in-app account deletion removes everything server-side; no email or support ticket needed.
• Calendar access and Google connection can be revoked any time in iOS Settings and your Google account settings.

Children

Shiftsy is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will note it in the app and update the date above.
